  • 3 Ways To Give Your Lips Some Extra Love

    February 02, 2020 2 min read

Whether you’re trying to perfect your pout or combat dry chapped lips - you should always give your lips some love.  The skin on your lips is much thinner and more delicate than the skin on other parts of the body, which means it requires a little more TLC and special treatment. While stocking up on your favorite lip balm can be a great solution, there are a few more ways you can make sure your lips are getting the care they need. We’ve rounded up the 3 best ways to keep your lips looking healthy all year round below.

    Use a Lip Mask

A healthy, effective solution for getting rid of chapped lips is using a lip mask. Make sure to use a lip mask that contains fruit enzymes, instead of manual exfoliants like apricot shells. This gentle yet powerful ingredient exfoliates dead, dry skin in just a few minutes, and when coupled with hydrating hyaluronic acid and organic extracts, your lips will be infused with soothing, long-lasting moisture. Top tip: avoid lip scrubs, as they can be very abrasive to the lips, ultimately doing more harm than good. When you scrub, you make micro-tears in the delicate lip skin, creating damage and further dryness and chapping. We recommend a gentle and highly effective mask like ourPerfect Pout Lip Mask

    Avoid Touching Your Lips

It’s tempting to pick at loose skin or lick at chapped lips but doing this makes the issue worse. Peeling off chapped skin will make your lips even drier and will prolong their healing time. Not only this, but you risk infections too - so do what you can to avoid picking, and reach for a balm instead!

    SPF

When applying our essential SPF in the morning our lips usually don’t come to mind, but it’s equally as important to add SPF to your lip routine!  The skin on the lips is thin and fragile, making them more prone to damage when exposed to the elements. Not only are we risking skin cancer when we don't protect our lips with SPF, but sun exposure also destroys collagen, which eventually makes your lips thinner. Protect and hydrate your pout with a lip balm that contains SPF to make it easier to add to your routine. We recommend ourPerfect Pout Lip Balm.
